Building a Robust Defence

With the world becoming more global and security risks on the rise, it’s no wonder Australia is building a robust and competitive defence industry. Defence is a priority sector under the Australian Government’s $15 billion National Reconstruction Fund.

There is also a first-time investment of $9.9 billion over the next ten years in Australia’s National Intelligence and Cyber capabilities as well as a Defence National Manufacturing Priority Road Map.

The road map aims to grow the size, range and competitiveness of Australia’s defence manufacturing sector by;

  • supporting businesses to diversify into new sectors or markets

  • increasing commercialisation opportunities

  • combining their capacities and expertise

By proposing ways government and industry can work together to expand manufacturing activities, access global supply chains and increasing investment will have a significant impact on the industry, boosting the skills required and creating more job opportunities.

Australia also has a Defence Innovation Hub, which supports new ideas and cutting-edge innovations that could have a defence application. The Australian Government is spending $1 billion in funding to 2030 through the Defence Innovation Hub.

The AOYE Group are committed to supporting the sector by filling the gaps with the talent and skills that will be required to build a stronger and more innovative defence industry.
