AOYE Participation in ACBC’s Canberra Event.

The AOYE Group was pleased to participate in the Australia China Business Council’s (ACBC) Annual signature event, Canberra Networking Day, at the National Library. The event needed to be shifted from Parliament House at the eleventh hour due to Queen Elizabeth’s passing.

The theme for the event was the ACBC’S launch of the Green Channel Initiative with participation in the event including members of Government, Business and Education. Engagement during the event from all sectors was enthusiastic with the robust debate at times.

AOYE Managing Director, Sandra Li was on the panel focusing on people flows between Australia and China. Ms Li highlighted the importance of the Federal Government’s Global Talent Program for Australia to enable innovation and growth, as contextualised by the Global Talent Report, released by ACBC in partnership with The AOYE Group this year. Other panellists included Julian Hill (Federal Member for Bruce) and Gary Qiang Li (Founder, AIDE Education and Migration).

The event culminated with a cocktail party at the Chinese Embassy, at which all guests were very privileged to have both the Australian and Chinese Ambassadors together. Graham Fletcher and Xiao Qian. The event included the first-ever release of a Penfolds wine to be produced in China

AOYE Country Manager Peter Dymond stated how Ambassador Xiao Qian made all feel welcome in his home.

The networking event certainly lived up to its name with AOYE being able to re-engage with old friends and begin the forming of collaborations with new ones.

Thanks to David, Alison and all at ACBC for bringing together some extraordinary leaders from across the Australia China Space.
